The name
The crow and the pitcher.
Corvano is named for the crow in Aesop's fable, who drops one stone at a time into a pitcher until the water rises within reach. It turned out not to be a fable. In 2009 researchers at Cambridge put four rooks in front of a tube of water with a worm floating out of reach and a pile of stones beside it. All four worked it out, and they used the bigger stones once they figured out those raised the level faster.
That is the whole idea here. No single question changes your score. And the reason we spend so much on explanations is the same reason those birds switched to the larger stones: understanding why something works is what makes the next attempt better.
